About Fly Dance Competition
Fly Dance Competition is a national dance competition tour judged by a panel of three industry judges with a 100-point criteria per judge (Technique 50, Performance/Execution 25, Stage Presence 15, Overall Impression 10). Routines compete across three division levels (First Time Flyer, Business Class, First Class) and six age divisions (Mini, Petite, Junior, Teen, Senior, Adult). Fifteen style categories accepted: ballet, character, clogging, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, modern, musical theatre, open, pom, pointe, specialty, tap, and vocal. Independent (non-studio) dancers may compete with a one-time fee per registration. Top routines from regional stops qualify for the Turbulence Showdown at Nationals, where $6,000+ in FLYmiles scholarships are awarded.

Adjudicated tiers vary by division level. First Time Flyer + Business Class: Million Miler 284-300, Private Charter 270-283.9, International Traveler 255-269.9, Frequent Flyer 0-254. First Class (shifted): Million Miler 286-300, Private Charter 270-285.9, International Traveler 255-269.9, Frequent Flyer 0-254. Special awards: Take Off to Nationals (top Mini/Petite/Junior + Teen/Senior small/large groups), FLYmiles scholarships (high-placing solos), Regional Title awards, Frequent FLYer Program (1 free solo per 10 paid routines), Improv prizes, Turbulence Showdown at Nationals ($6,000+ in FLYmiles for top 3 per category).
