About dance competitions in Minneapolis

Minneapolis and the Twin Cities are a cornerstone of the upper-Midwest dance-competition scene, and the region knows how to host. Events land in downtown convention hotels and suburban performing-arts centers, and the compact geography means the venue, your hotel, and the attractions are rarely far apart. It's a well-organized, welcoming place to spend a comp weekend.

For families, the Twin Cities punch well above their weight. The Mall of America in Bloomington packs an indoor theme park and aquarium under one roof, ideal when Minnesota weather turns cold or wet, and the metro is full of zoos, science museums, and lakeside parks. Check the season before you pack, because a January regional and a spring event are very different trips.

Twin Cities dance competitions are commonly held in downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul convention hotels and suburban performing-arts centers; fly into Minneapolis-St. Paul International (MSP), which sits conveniently between the two downtowns and near the Mall of America.
