Just For Kix - Together We Dance operates a unique kick and dance team competition exclusively for students enrolled in Just For Kix franchise programs from kindergarten through 12th grade. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Baxter, Minnesota, the company hosts approximately 18 regional competitions annually across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska. Unlike traditional dance competitions, Together We Dance welcomes all participants without tryouts and focuses on "The Pursuit of Excellence" with the goal for teams to "better their best." The competition series culminates in a nationals event held at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, Minnesota, where teams compete across multiple age divisions including Petites/Wees/Minis, Middles, and Juniors & Seniors. Teams are evaluated using four equally-weighted judging criteria: Kicks, Skills/Technique, Execution, and Projection. In addition to the main team competition format, Just For Kix also offers Solo, Duet, and Small Group (SDS) competitions during select events, providing additional performance opportunities for dancers of all ages and experience levels to build confidence and strengthen their skills.
