NUVO Dance Convention is a national dance workshop and competition company that tours to 31 cities across the United States and Canada each season. Based in Los Angeles, California, NUVO operates as part of the DanceOne family of companies and positions itself as convention-first, emphasizing education as the driving force throughout each weekend event. The company offers classes in all major dance styles including jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, musical theatre, ballroom, tap, and improvisation. NUVO's competition uses a detailed scoring system with awards ranging from DJ's Pick (291-300 points) down through Palladium, High Gold, Gold, and High Silver levels. Judging is based on technique (50%), performance (20%), choreography (20%), and overall impression (10%), with age divisions spanning from Nubie through Open levels. The company holds two national championship events called "The Dance Awards" in both Las Vegas, Nevada and Orlando, Florida.
