About ShowMakers of America
ShowMakers of America is a Texas-based dance/drill team organization that, since 1988, has trained high school dance/drill teams, pep squads, officers and directors, offering choreography, dance camps, and dance competitions ('contests') across Texas cities including Houston, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and the Rio Grande Valley.

Rating-based system. Soloists with superior ratings (85+) receive award pins; ensembles receive medals; trophies awarded 1st-6th place. Teams/officers earn Division I trophies (1st division rating 85-100 in a category), Sweepstakes (85-100 on 3 routines), Judges Award banner (90-100 avg in 3 categories), Best in Class, Line of Champions, State Champions, and the Pinnacle Award for highest-scoring Varsity team/officer group.
Judges score performances on choreography, technique, precision, showmanship and creativity; all 3 judges provide oral critiques and written score sheets.

Regional contest entry fees (per routine): Team $315, Show Production $350, Officer $275, Solo $120 (Individual Solo $125), Duet $190 (Individual Duet $195), Small Ensemble 3-5 dancers $215, Medium Ensemble 6-8 dancers $225, Large Ensemble 9-14 dancers $240, Extra Large Ensemble 15-25 dancers $265. (Individual = not associated with a studio or school entering.)
