About Just Dance Invitational

Just Dance Invitational (JDI), founded in 2015 by Sandra Statzell, is a regional dance competition that awards cash scholarships toward college tuition and intensive programs instead of trophies. JDI aims to inspire, motivate, and invest in young dancers.

Awards, Judging & Scoring

Scoring System

Three judges score each routine out of 100 points for a maximum possible score of 300. Dancers earn award tiers based on their total combined scores, with higher scores reflecting exceptional technique, artistry, and performance quality.

  • The JDI Award (285-300)
  • Platinum (278-284.9)
  • High Gold (271-277.9)
  • Gold (264-270.9)
  • Elite Silver (200-263.9)

All dancers receive recognition for their achievements regardless of score level.

Judging Criteria

  • Technique / Degree of Difficulty - 40 points
  • Stage Presence / Age-Level Appropriateness - 25 points
  • Execution / Control - 25 points
  • Overall - 10 points
