Three judges score every routine and their decisions are final. Scoring is weighted: technique 40%, presentation and performance 30%, choreography 20%, overall appearance 10%.
Every routine receives a general adjudication placement award. Epic does not use named adjudication bands - there is no platinum / high gold / gold ladder.
Overall awards scale with the size of the division: the top 1-3 routines place where there are 1-3 entries, the top 3 where there are 4 or more, the top 5 where there are 10 or more, and the top 10 where there are 20 or more. Adult and Pro divisions are not eligible for overalls or cash awards.
Specialty awards at every event: Performance, Curtain Call, Costume, Choreography, Technique and Epic Dance Photo, plus Judges' Awards.
The weekend closes with the Epic Event Overall. The top three studios' group routines are decided on the highest scores of the whole weekend, and the studio with the top overall score wins a cash prize for the studio; only advanced-level routines are eligible.
Cash scholarships are awarded at every stop: $50 to the top overall solo, duo and trio routines, and $100 to the top overall group routines.

Pricing
Entry fees are not published publicly. Epic's rules page states that entry fee information is found inside your Tour Pro account, under the Pricing and Rules tab. What is published is the structure. A deposit is required to guarantee your routines. Entry fees are then due 14 days before the first day of competition, and fees received after that are subject to a 10% late fee. Early bird pricing requires registration paid in full 30 days before the event, and each stop publishes its own early bird date. Additions or revisions requested within 7 days of an event carry a $15 processing fee each. Epic accepts check, cashier's check and credit card. Routine lengths and sizes: solo, duo/trio and small group (4-9) run to 3:00; large group (10-19) to 4:00; line (20+) to 5:00; production (20+) to 8:00. Three extra minutes may be purchased for any group, line or production at $5 per dancer per additional minute. Optional contests: photo entry $10 per submission, limit two per dancer; improv entry $20 per submission. Photos and video are free. Epic states that all media is free to download for every dancer in attendance, with no additional fees, password protected and posted within 72 hours.
