About the Program
Wesleyan University's Dance Department is a contemporary program with global perspective. The curriculum centers on the creative act — imagining, making, and doing — and is interdisciplinary, embodied, collaborative, and physically and intellectually rigorous. Coursework focuses on composition, performance, engagement, global perspectives, social activism, and interdisciplinary studies. Wesleyan Dance faculty include recipients of multiple Guggenheim Awards, Bessie Awards, UN-funded projects, and the Binswanger Teaching Award, and have performed at premier venues globally including Bates Dance Festival and Jacob's Pillow.
