About the Program
The B.F.A. with a major in Dance at Valdosta State University prepares students for a broad range of opportunities including performance, choreography, teaching, arts administration, and dance/movement therapy. The program emphasizes developing collaboration, working to deadlines, self-discipline, patience, perseverance, analytical skills, and critical thinking. Housed in the Department of Communication Arts within the College of the Arts, the BFA is a 120-hour degree; admission requires an audition. A Dance Minor is also offered.
