About the Program
Utah Tech University's Dance Department in Saint George, UT offers a BA/BS in Dance (120 credits, four years), a Dance minor, and an AA/AS in Dance. The program aims to provide students the opportunity to achieve their dance education goals by developing the skills of embodied practice and scholarly and creative inquiry, combining technical, creative, and contextual coursework in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, ballroom, and world dance forms. The department produces three mainstage concerts each year featuring student, faculty, and guest artist choreography and participates in the American College Dance Association regional conference.

Coursework
Required technique courses (21 credits) in ballet and modern dance; theory courses (31 credits) in composition, kinesiology, dance history, pedagogy, and career preparation. Additional coursework includes Aerial Dance Technique, Pointe, Dance Partnering, World Dance Forms, and Movement for Musical Theatre. An Integrated Studies degree with a Dance emphasis is also available.
