About the Program
The Department of Dance at UW-Milwaukee's Peck School of the Arts is committed to the development of skillful and vibrant dance artists and educators in their pursuit of a comprehensive education built upon diverse practices, research, and community engagement. The innovative curriculum integrates multiple disciplines and somatic practices, creating a learning environment that balances body and mind knowledge with informed, creative expression. UWM offers a BA in Dance, BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography (Contemporary), MFA in Dance (low-residency), plus a Dance Performance Minor and a Somatics Undergraduate Certificate.

Performance Opportunities
Students engage with Milwaukee professional dance companies including Danceworks, Ko-Thi, Wild Space, and project-based groups Hyperlocal MKE, Dawn Springer Projects, and Panadanza. Workshops and internships with MG/The Collaboratory and Bembe Dance and Drum. Faculty and students present at Death's Door Dance Festival, MKE Fringe Fest, and Milwaukee Film Festival.
