About the Program
The Dance Program at the University of Houston, housed in the School of Theatre & Dance within the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts, develops creative dance artists and educators through intensive training in technique, choreography, and academics. It offers BFA and BA degrees plus a K–12 (secondary, grades 8-12) teacher certification option and a dance minor, and is described as the only dance program in Houston offering two degree tracks with teacher certification. Training spans technique, choreography, performance, pedagogy, history, kinesiology/anatomy, somatic practices, and dance technology.
