About the Program
The BFA in Dance at Troy University is a competitive, comprehensive program in which students train intensively in the styles of Ballet and Contemporary. It prepares graduates for a professional performance career and also offers extensive training in choreography, pedagogy, and artistic direction. Following first-year faculty evaluations, students are either invited to continue in the BFA or to seek a different major while completing the minor in dance. The program is housed in the Department of Theatre and Dance within the College of Arts and Humanities.

Coursework
Course catalog includes ballet (with pointe and pas de deux/partnering), contemporary/modern, jazz, tap, ballroom (American and Latin), social dance, musical theatre dance, and commercial dance. Freshmen enroll in "The Creative Habit," a learning community for first-year theatre and dance students.

Performance Opportunities
Performance opportunities include the annual Art In Motion dance concert (held at the Trojan Center Theatre), Summer Spotlight intensives and camps, production practicums, and work with guest artists.
