About the Program
The Dance program at Springfield College, housed in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts, is described as dynamic, diverse, and consistently on the edge of contemporary trends in dance, with an emphasis on educating the whole person in spirit, mind, and body. Students take classes in ballet, modern/contemporary, jazz, west African, hip-hop, house, and other social dance forms. The program features a Repertory Touring Company that performs throughout New England, Boston, and New York City, plus a partnership with the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival offering workshops and internships. Springfield offers a B.A. in Dance, a Dance minor, and a Dance/Health Science Pre-PT to Doctor of Physical Therapy pathway.
