About the Program
Santa Monica College's Dance Department offers an AA in Dance as a two-year community college transfer degree. SMC dance emphasizes contemporary dance and world dance, with two performance ensembles: Synapse Contemporary Dance Theater and Global Motion World Dance Company. The department is housed in the Core Performance Center — a state-of-the-art dance studios facility on the SMC campus. SMC has one of the strongest community college dance programs in Southern California and serves as a transfer feeder to CSU and UC BFA/BA dance programs.
