About the Program
The Bachelor of Arts in Dance at San Francisco State University is designed to provide a comprehensive education in dance with a balanced focus in Dance Studies and Dance Technique. Coursework introduces students to foundational skills and knowledge in dance technique, choreography, and dance studies. Students demonstrate competence in working conceptually and thinking critically about dance technique, performance, and choreography — including aesthetic properties of style and ideas shaped by artistic and cultural contexts.
