Rider University's B.A. in Dance offers a Dance/Performance major (47 credits) that includes applied studio, theory, history, choreography, improvisation, technical theater, repertory, cultural theory, somatics, Pilates, conditioning, and pedagogy. B.A. in Dance/Performance requires 47 credits. Of 12 required studio credits, majors must complete a minimum of three progressive levels of Ballet (must pass Ballet 3/equivalent to graduate), plus Modern and a minimum of three Contemporary Dance Forms options. Rider also offers a B.A. in Elementary Education/Dance Studies (32 dance credits: applied studio, pedagogy, history, choreography, improvisation, cultural theory, Pilates). Course DAN 100 "Contemporary Dance Forms" rotates styles (Hip Hop, West African, Latin, Commercial, Lyrical, Tap, Jazz).
Performance Opportunities
