About the Program
Reed College's Dance Department courses offer the opportunity to connect body and mind within Reed's intellectual community through studio and conference-based classes building critical reasoning, creativity, analytical approaches, and collaboration. The BA and Minor in Dance emphasize contemporary dance and ballet alongside choreography, improvisation, critical dance studies, cultural studies, Latin American dance, and dances of the African diaspora. Reed also offers interdisciplinary majors combining dance with theatre, art, music, Spanish, psychology, sociology, literature, and history.

Reed's Dance Department uniquely offers ad hoc combined majors pairing dance with almost any Reed discipline (art, music, Spanish, psychology, sociology, literature, history). Exchange programs available in New York, Paris, Jerusalem, Havana, and with nearby Lewis and Clark College.
