About the Program
The Ohio State University Department of Dance advances contemporary dance by honoring the pillars of the field and empowering students to cultivate craft, adaptability, innovation, and global reach. As one of the earliest NASD-accredited dance departments in the United States (initial accreditation 1982), OSU offers a full ladder of dance degrees — BFA, MFA, and PhD in Dance Studies (plus a Dance Minor) — one of only a small number of doctoral programs in dance offered anywhere in the United States. Additional undergraduate offerings include a Dance Minor and dance electives open to the wider university community.
