About the Program

New World School of the Arts (NWSA) was created by the Florida Legislature in 1984 as a center of excellence in the performing and visual arts. It is an educational partnership of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Miami Dade College, and the University of Florida — offering a unified high school + college continuum for students pursuing careers in dance, music, theatre, and visual arts. The Dance Division offers a 2 1/2-year Associate of Arts pathway (via MDC) and a 4-year Bachelor of Fine Arts.
