About the Program

Dance at Luther College is housed in the Visual and Performing Arts department and is grounded in the study of Movement Fundamentals (MF), a curriculum rooted in somatic (body-based) education rather than traditional dance-style training, with Contact Improvisation as a core component. Dance is offered as a minor, and students may pursue a bachelor's degree in dance through an Individualized Interdisciplinary Major in Movement Fundamentals.
