About the Program
A Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the Joan Phelps Palladino School of Dance at Dean College provides a college dance education that blends purposeful liberal arts studies and conservatory-level training needed to prepare you for success, both on and off the stage. Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts has been a nationally recognized center for college dance for more than 50 years, offering BA and BFA degrees plus a minor, with training in modern, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and tap.

BA curriculum includes dance history, dance composition, Laban Movement Analysis, dance pedagogy, writing for the arts, anatomy and kinesiology. BFA offers conservatory-level training in ballet, jazz, tap, modern and related techniques.

Facilities
Guidrey Center teaching and performance venue, a 16,000-square-foot Main Stage Theatre with costume shop and control booth, and dedicated Performing Arts Studios.
Performance Opportunities
Students perform in campus productions and showcases and have performed at the Kennedy Center, Joyce Theater, and Ailey Citigroup Theater. The program participates in the American College Dance Festival (ACDF), ranking top 30 nationally, and offers for-credit internships with professional dance companies. Majors have interned at Jacob's Pillow, Lincoln Center, Battery Dance Company, Broadway Dance Center, Rhee Gold, Boston Ballet, and the National Dance Education Organization.
