About the Program
Cypress College Dance offers a well-rounded AA in Dance preparing students to transfer as dance majors or to teach, choreograph, and perform professionally. The department covers ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, Afro-Caribbean, flamenco, Middle Eastern, Latin, ballroom, swing, adaptive dance, and improvisation. Additional coursework includes dance appreciation, Pilates mat work, costume and lighting design for dance, dance and technology, choreography, dance production, and teaching methodologies.
