About the Program

The Dance Program at Cornish College of the Arts at Seattle University is committed to cultivating versatile, thoughtful, and innovative dance artists grounded in physical practice and creative inquiry. Students engage in rigorous daily physical practices that rotate between a breadth of styles: Western Concert Dance (Contemporary, Modern, Ballet, Jazz), Africanist forms (West African, Street Styles, Hip Hop, Authentic Jazz), International/Global Forms, and Somatics. From day one, students immerse in choreography, improvisation, digital dance studies, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The 4-year BFA is 120 credits, with August and January start dates.
