About the Program
The dance program at Cedar Crest College allows you to view the art of dance from multiple perspectives to fully understand it as a discipline of study. Students explore creative expression through workshops and performance pieces, developing discipline-specific technical skills in tap, jazz, modern, and ballet, while participating in choreography and theater productions. The BA is grounded in the liberal arts, and majors are encouraged to participate in two performances a year.

Dance Minor (18 credits)
Coursework
BA requires 36 credits including technique courses, composition, improvisation, dance history (DNC 235 Dance in the Western World), portfolio workshop, and thesis/senior projects. Minor requires 18 credits (at least 12 at Cedar Crest).

Facilities
Two fully equipped dance studios, dance costume storage, and a theatrical performance space with a full light plot. Seniors receive a fully funded dance project.
Performance Opportunities
Dance majors are encouraged to participate in two performances a year, including one choreographed by students, plus theater productions such as plays and musicals.
