About the Program
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at CSU Long Beach is designed to prepare students for professional careers as performers and choreographers. Students demonstrate strong technical ability and audition for the BFA program after completing prerequisite coursework with a minimum 3.0 GPA. CSULB Dance offers a comprehensive suite of degrees at the undergraduate and graduate level, including a distinctive BS in Dance Science and MFA/MA graduate options.

Coursework
BFA audition required with 3.0 minimum GPA and demonstrated technical ability. Prerequisite coursework includes DANC 100/300, 120, 161, 182, and 10 units of technique/movement practices from at least 3 different forms of dance. Additional BS in Dance Science option supports the science-focused pathway alongside performance and choreography tracks.
