About the Program

Bridgewater State University offers a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Dance Minor in Bridgewater, southeast Massachusetts. The program emphasizes that "movement is medicine" and prepares students for careers in performance, dance therapy, dance education, and choreography. BSU is the only public university with a dance major and minor serving southeast Massachusetts, and the only program in the state combining a dance major with secondary education to lead to dance teacher licensure. Core techniques include ballet, jazz, modern, tap, and world/African Diaspora dance, with experiential learning through teaching practicums, choreography (Winterdance production), and internships.
